And so it was, 25 May 2011, Sissy's graduation day! Fortunately the only lesson I have on wednesdays is GEMs as pharmacology elective was shifted to next sem!:D

Biostats quiz this thurs! Even tho it's an open book I still do worry! Worry that I may not have enough time to complete the test, worry that I don't know where to find the formula.. SHALL TRUST IN GOD! God's help + self help = best help!

Had haemato quiz this afternoon. It was good! 77/100, better than I expected(: really thank God for helping me through studying for these quiz! Especially haemato where I've to learnt almost 20 types of Anaemia! Didn't even know there were that many anaemias!

Just recently I was brought to realization that some girls can be really stupid, or dumb.

People always say '男人不坏，女人不爱.' which means if a guy is not bad (in the sense of being mischievous and flirtatious), no woman will love him. Isn't that stupid?

Why love someone, give your all to someone who has a high probability of leaving you? I've seen many such examples around me where these relationships left the girls hurt and feel desolated. It's appalling to have such guys around. Have the good guys been too nice that they become almost invisible to us? And because of their 'evil deeds' the 'bad guys' have been extremely prominent to us? Idk..
I guess we just have to open our eyes real big to find a good guy.

Bintan! 21-24 March 2011

YAY! finally the time to blog about this 2 month ago trip :x I'm so late in updating my blog which made sissy pissed to the point she don't really bother frequenting my blog. hello?? anyone out there???

Anyway, this post is about my trip to Bintan, Indonesia with sissy, sarah and ek jun. It was supposed to be their grad trip but since sissy said that three people maybe too boring she called me along. I must say that travelling to Bintan for a short getaway (3D2N) is extremely budget friendly as i spent $180+ on ferry, accommodation and breakfast. We went during March which makes it close to a peak period pricing.
Without further ado, the trip!

Day 1

In the bus otw to Bintan Lagoon Resort. It's a resort i came a couple of times with the extended family during the school hols where we will book a villa and have BBQ dinner every night, yes, every night!:DD

Us registering for some 'joyfully' card which grants us great discounts for some of the facilities and restaurants they have in the resort.

We then took a cab from the resort to The Kelong which was about 20 mins ride. We got 'cheated', this 'kelong' here is a just restaurant fixed in a kelong setting, but their pricing followed the restaurant benchmark. It wasn't the authentic kelong we thought we would see:(

the breeze was relaxing as compared to the ones in sg. The breeze there do not carry the smell of oil or the extremely salty smell you get in Pasir Ris park...

After our meal, we head to a spa for a full body massage!

The tranquil environment really helped us to relax through the entire massage which was approximately 1hr. It was my first time having a full body massage and it was great and relaxing! $31 was extremely reasonable:D

headed back to the resort where we went for our dinner at one of the restaurants there.

It was really fine dining but looked at the way we're dressed! *slaps forehead!* hah!

oh very random, but, the bread they gave us (in front of sissy) is extremely nice!! Being someone who dislikes bread, i can eat many pieces of that bread with butter:D

Their food was ok. A plus point was only that their seafood was fresh. But hey, they live by the sea, so asking for fresh seafood is never too much.

After dinner activities!

we played many card games and snacked on lotsa tibits!!!:DDDD

lookie all the cards strewed on the floor! The game I love the most was Saboteur, a strategy game which can be really addictive as you want to find the gold!

Day 2
Day 2 was when the real thrill begins!

we had a swim and went on the slide countless times!! Sarah and sissy adored the sun and suntanned for more than 30mins! :O Ek jun and I on the other hand did not want to get the tan so we stayed under shade and I spammed sunblock like nobody's business! hahas!

We then head on to their almost pristine beach.

Day 3
nothing much was done on day 3 as we had to check out by 12 and our ferry was at 2+. So that concludes the 3D2N getaway we had at Bintan! I may just come back here again since it is cheap! & I'm looking forward to my own grad trip! DBS3A01 FTW! we've started planning on the location, accomodation and mode of travel for the trip! WE'RETHEBEST!(Y)

KOREA- my first winter!

oh how we crave for wifi! anti-social retards! hahas!

First stop, Nami Island. One of the most attractive site for tourist as it was the shooting site for the korean drama, Winter Sonata. As it's name suggest, Nami Island requires us to take a ferry over. Look at the frozen waters!

Anw, the scenery there was really picturesque, how can we resist snapping pictures!

we then head back for lunch and our first hotel!

Bus was something we sat for almost half a day!D: From point A to point B was at least an hour ride for most places!D:

Family members and I were too bored in the hotel room thus we headed out to shop!:D

It was really fun to head down from one shop to another. It was like minimarts after minimarts! One thing unforgettable was having ice cream at freezing temperatures and, I was only wearing jacket, jeans and a scarf! heh!

We nearly went to the nearby beach to set up fireworks but dk why we didn't do it in the end!:( so gotta try that since Singapore prohibits it:(

Day 3: SKIING!

Day 3 was the day of many first! First time skiing and the first time I've ever seen SNOW!

we then took the gondola up!

In the late afternoon we're supposed to visit the hot spring but gave it a missed since we can't bear to leave the ski area!

headed for dinner and then back to the ski area! Enjoyed ourselves even more in the evening as it's much more empty:D we played on the ski board in many different styles, seating down, lying flat or even going through a bump! ohmann missing it so much even as I'm typing it out.. well that concludes most of day 3(:

Day 4: EVERLAND!

The bulk of day 4 was spent at everland and we also went to see the presidential blue house.

*Can't remember the exact things which happen for different days but for the remaining 4 days, 2 was spent in the mainland of Korea while the other two was in Jeju island. So day 5 and 6 shall be the ones in mainland korea:D

Day 5 & 6: Lotte world, Dongdaemun

There wasn't any peektures for Lotte World! damn saddd...
sissy had some uploaded on her fb but the format was different from the format I could uploads the pics. Being a super IT illiterate, I've no idea how to get them converted:/
But the memories formed remained so etched in my mind.
I still can remember the thrilling rides, the extreme temperatures which made waiting pass damn slow as we were freezing! I also remembered the parade that they had! The elaborate costumes they had made it a show to remember. Cousins, siblings and I actually went to find a 'Mad for Garlic' store in Korea so that we could taste the authentic Korean version. They do have a 'Mad for Garlic' restaurant in Singapore which is located at Suntec city(: and my! the pizza in Korea's Mad for Garlic was just awesome!! well, Singapore's outlet do sell really delicious ones too. heh!

In Dongdaemun, mummy, sissy and I headed to the shopping mall which we couldn't bargain as all the priced were fixed:( we then move on to the building next to it which some people call it the hei se hui shopping centre, the black society shopping centre. Many stalls in there are run by either gangsters, their girlfriends or their mothers. Thus, not to be trifled with. In there, you can bargain for everything and anything! but.. we were not able to buy much as the clothes and shoes sold there are mainly for the winter season!:(( They also had an extensive range of pirated goods (ranging from juicy couture to gucci, from longchamp to prada) which I believe are sold by mafias as one of the shop owner was dressed in long brown pants, black shirt, grey duck hat and dark sunglasses. but.... he speaks gently! hahas! way too funny! In the end, I bought a blue leather bag from another stall and, it's not pirated! hahas! totally original design. hahahahas! In addition, I bought a brown shorts which was reasonable as I can wear it in Singapore(: Would really love to shop there again during the summer period to buy lotsa clothing!!

oh and during these two days, we stayed in Lotte World hotel. The prettiest hotel we had the entire trip!

Day 7&8: Jeju Island
In Jeju Island, we did many things, visited many places. First up, we went to the tangerine farm! Tried plucking the tangerine straight from the tree!:DD again, peektures are in sissy's fb. Next we head on to take the submarine and saw a field of flowers on the way!

Went to the submarine area but were not able to take the submarine as the waves were too choppy!:(( As compensation, we were entitled to watch a horse circles which was not bad.. something different(:

we then proceed on to the glass museum!

It's amazing how these things can be made out of glass!

Lookie! I found Singapore!!! not that small after all eh! hehes!

We then proceed on for the nanta show! I LOVE<3<3<3 THIS SHOW! All the performers were extremely enthusiastic and interactive throughout the show which really brings about the adrenaline rush through my body to move to their groove too!

That concludes day 7.

Day 8, we had abalone porridge for breakfast! nothing to be fascinated about. I couldn't even find a small piece of abalone, let alone taste it!
After breakfast we went to have a look at the Dragon Head Rock.

After that, we went to climb the Sunrise Peak.

It was an extremely long journey up! panting non-stop but it was definitely much better than to climb a hill in Singapore as it was cold there so we weren't sweaty and all(: the coming down was scary enough. Some flights of stairs were really steep so you may loose your balance any time. :/

We then went on for some horse riding!!!

so cool uh!!

when we were riding back to the stable, it started to snow heavily. Little snow balls came pelting onto my face! At that time, I really didn't care about pain, it was exhilarating, once in a lifetime experience! So who cares? I just enjoyed the whole process and made the horse gallop even faster:DD heh!

up next, was kimchi making and wearing of the hanbok!

it was my very first time making kimchi and it was really fun! hehes!

while waiting for the coach to fetch us for dinner, a peekture with the tour guide, Sean!

Our dinner was a spread of seafood meal.

Cousin wisely was brave enough to grab a big bite of the live octopus! I tried too, but one teeny weeny bit was enough for me! the tentacles actually do suckle to your skin even after it was cut off, you can see how hard it sucks the lady boss' hand in the pic above. It's actually very gross to think you're eating sashimi from something still alive.. urgh!

That concludes my trip to Korea! I didn't want to come back to Singaporeeeeee!!!

But to reminise the best thing I did! Eating ice cream at temp below 0, wearing only a jacket, jeans and shoes with cousin jo!

Usually in Korea, I'll wear a set of thermal wear, an extra long john, long sleeve shirt, trenchcoat, jeans, thermal jacket and shoes with thermal socks. But when we went to get the ice cream, i was really just in jacket, jeans, scarf and shoes with normal socks. It was just something one have to do! Going on a vacation without doing something crazy makes the entire trip futile!! hehes!

Today, this time, I got my...DRIVING LICENSE! it really came as a shock to me as I was still making careless mistakes yesterday's and today's lesson:/
Really thank God for preserving the weather as I was freaking out when I didn't drive well in the rain yesterday. & also thank God for a lenient tester and a good instructor!^^

Abt 4:15 I entered the room, filled with drivers wannabe like me but yet, everyone was silent. It was as if I entered some meditation room. Hahas! So I waited, and thank God that the second tester was my tester, didn't have to wait very long:p
Being the second one to go gives me great advantage as the circuit was so empty! Never had I have the circuit so empty before! Heh!
The test was really short, by 15 mins, I was already back at the circuit following the tester to the room. Here comes the moment of truth, the place where I nearly broke down. The tester brought me to the desk and told me to have a seat while he did his stuff. He said nothing about the test, nothing. This really freak me out.
Then, came in another tester with another candidate, they were discussing what mistakes she made and stuff like that which my tester didn't tell me at all! It means two things, either I did well enough, or I did really badly that he would have to talk to me for a long time. Tears just welled up in my eyes..totally freaked out by then. He then came over with the result slip and I could only see the front page with all the demerit points I had, but yet, too small for me to see all. Once he flipped to the back to sign and I saw the word 'PASSED', I was like 'thank God!' hehes!
So well, same usual mistake, break hard like nobody's business! Hehes! But I still passed THANK GOD!^^

How long I've greed for this feeling!

This feeling is just indescribable! How for the past weeks the table was always filled with stacks of notes, books, blank papers which turned into papers with illegible scribbles and even the computer on on google mode to google for my endless queries, it has finally ended! I'M FINALLY DONE WITH POLY YEAR TWO! :DDDD one more year to go!

Had three papers this time, and yes I do feel more fortunate when I compare the amount of papers I have with others!(:
Basic Patho paper was not bad! Shouldn't have concentrated so much on GI tract cus it wasn't tested in the long answers, neither was it tested to great detail in short answers T.T
GemBio, hmm... my least prepared module :/ summer squash! phoebe song, you're one evil, cunning woman! :(
OCRM, just finished it today! The actual paper was tougher than the past year papers provided! but well... it was do-able, was able to check more than twice! So hope hope *fingers cross* that it would never be C for Chemistry again!

Have been totally MIA from blogger for a really really long time! Didn't even have the time to blog on the new yr, cny, sissy's birthday and other stuff in my life. Will update them slowly..
but now... things to expect in the month of march!
4th -> movie date and retail therapy date with mummy and sissy!
5th-> CYA chalet BBQ!
10th-> Ahcek's housewarming
11th-> Card making session @ stirring hearts with class peeps!
18th-> my TP *nervous!*
22nd-> results release date *nervous X2!*
22-24-> BINTAN TRIP!
25-> my BIRTHDAY! turning 19, my last teenage year. <- sad, horrifying truth.
throughout the month-> gonna be busy with FYP
throughout the month -> many more dates to catch up with all my precious peeps! you know who you are! gonna ring all of you soon!:DD

throughout the month, I will,
- step more often into the kitchen (culinary skills becoming really horrible T.T)
- practice my violin more often

Parenthood v.s. Teacher-hood

She got up from the bed, dressed herself and walked towards the doctor's desk. "Anything's wrong?", she asked. Her husband helped her to the chair as her swollen belly and feet were obstructing her movement. This is her first child, into her second trimester, eagerly awaiting it's birth. Two months time, she would not only be a wife, but a mother too, a responsibility which calls for a lifetime of faithfulness. The gynaecologist removed his reading glasses and look towards the young couple.
"I'm sorry but through the foetal ultrasound, we can see a buildup of fluid behind the fetus' neck." He paused.
"So how's my baby? What will happen to him?" She asked eagerly, wanting to know the exact consequence of such unknown phenomenon.
"Your child may have developed Down syndrome." He said.
'No, this can't be' she thought, 'I'm only 26, how can such a thing happen to me?!'

Imagine if you are this young mother, what would you have done? Your child, your first child, has Down syndrome.
Abort it? Not a possibility in Singapore as the fetus is over 24 months.
Send it for adoption? Who wants to adopt a child with Down syndrome? Are you even willing to send it for adoption?
I think every parent wouldn't have a heart to abort or send the child for adoption. So how is it that you're going to stay steadfast to this livelong responsibility? I think it's only a parent's love that will bring anyone through. Even a slightest special need, it's the parent's love that will allow the child to grow happily.

Over the past three days, I've been helping my mummy in her school's activities. On Tuesday, we brought the kids to ntuc to do a little shopping trip. Wednesday, cooking lesson 1: making sushi! Thursday, cooking lesson 2: making waffles! Through these activities I've learnt alot, from mummy, other teachers and even these little kids.Enjoyed myself thoroughly and will never forget how they will call out 'Jollyn jie jie!!' whenever they see me!*beams!*
I've learnt to be more patient. There's a child with autism in the class who did not want to do the waffle today. However, I thought that all children should be given a chance to try making it, so i went up to the child, brought the child to wash hands and guided the child on how to make the waffle mix. I could see that the child did enjoy the process as the child will look at me and smile, something the child never did to me before for the past 2 days! *touched* my effort was truly paid off!
Secondly, there was another child with a food allergy. The child could not consume egg white, an ingredient required in the waffle mix. So after all the children had made their waffle, I made one from scratch for the child without the egg white.
Sound so noble right? hahas! But these things I did for the children can never be compared to the effort placed in by the parents and teachers on a day to day basis.

So everything really boils down to a parent love, something even a teacher with children cannot do. Every child is different, unless you have a child with the same need, one can never understand the child and how should the child be taken care off. Another child in the class is a vegetarian, the child's mother will bring vegetarian ingredients to make the sushi on the second day. Who will know where to get these items? Unless you're truly concerned for this child or maybe have a vegetarian in your household, right?

so.. A PARENT LOVE NEVER FAILS.!

RELEASE THE ACCELERATOR!

YES! LIKE FINNNAAAAALLLYYYYYYY!!!! EXAMS ARE OVER AND HOLIDAYS ARE HERE TO STAY TILL THE END OF THE YEAR! ah wells I make holidays sound so long but it's only 3 weeks!

Anyway, here's how I find this time's MST!

Proteomics -> hmm.. can't say much since I self-studied it w/o much knowledge :S gotta work hard on flow cyto then!
CIA-> MCQ was the bad one! Questions which the notes can't answer at all :( but the essay was really gooood :DDD
OCRM-> Surprisingly easy!:D Had a great phobia for chemistry in poly! Had C for previous both chem modules! Hope this time it wouldn't be C for Chemistry...
Basic Pathology-> Not bad! 37/50! Ben yang is well-known to fail ppl in this module so I gotta pull up my socks stilll!!!
GemBio-> MCQ was a mad one again! phoebe song, you're an ass! you expect me to do so many Mendelian genetics probability questions for MCQ and i only had 15 mins to do it!:( but the essay questions we're really good! heh! Regurgitate like mad! mugging was totally paid off :D

Thank God for seeing me through all these papers, and the mugging too(;

GemBio paper ended on friday (10/12) at 930! super duper early!!!
Went to FC1 with classmates to talk crap till 1030 and i set off for OC to get my fringe cut. Who knows Evelyn was on MC:( so I just got another hairdresser from Hair Inn to trim it for me, and she did a pretty good job!(: Met sissy for waxing at orchard plaza then walked to ion to have ramen! Many peektures we took on the way there! Taken by my trusty fujifilm, tho not of extreme good quality. Just sufficient to allow these scenes to last(:

FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD! Pork and chicken ramen in red miso! Totally love the texture of their noodles! very difference from the ones served at other ramen stall like ajisen. However, the red miso was too salty for my liking, had to wash it down with many glasses of green tea.

Next, toilet madness! We're making fullll use of the rotatable mirrors in the toilet!

We're totally mad! Many other aunties and OLs were looking at us! heh! be jealous pls if you don't have a sister to go crazy! heh!

Went shopping and i got myself a pair of gladiators at 30% off! *beams* , a cardigen and muji marshmellowwwwssss!:D Not much tho since we were too lazy to walk more!

Went to superdog to rest and continue taking more peektures!

Staff there were really friendly! Readily strike a convo with me and kept it going for a long time. She was really patience in answering questions I had regarding the products they use(: plus, she was very helpful to pick the colours for me, whereas in other places, they just pass you the nail colour template and wait for you to choose them yourself... The place itself was very clean had comfortable massage chairs, and great music!:D After I was done with the mani and pedi, my manicurist help me out with my bags and shopping bags and even help me wear my sandals! *touched!* so gonna go back there again!

After I got my nails painted, I went down to bugis koi to get oolong milktea with grass jelly and milktea for the nom nom gang peeps! Met them for dinner at nando's!

Nando's serves grilled chicken with spicy sauce! My mouth watered right when i smelt it! *droolss!* I can almost smell it now! hahas! however, the sauce had not much kick if we were to compare this with buffalo wings at sunset pub and grill. Love their drink! refreshing mix of isotonic water with lemon and orange! CITRUS-LICIOUS!

We then walked to selegie road to have rocher beancurd! and I fell while walking up the stairs! *soooo embarrassing!*

hahas! That's 'How are you' in Korean! yupps have started learning some Korean basics recently at Korea Plaza @ raffles place. My family and I would be going to Korea at the end of this year! yessah!

Going to Korea Plaza certainly brought back some memories. I used to work in a dental clinic located at Royal Brothers Building during one of my vacation. Walking down the same path, passing by polar, the brownie factory (where the smell there could make one's mouth water). Walking into a all so grand lift lobby, even the security guard have a desk which somewhat look like a hotel's concierge, pressing the button that commands the lift to take me to the 10th floor, opening the glass door and tadah! greeted by an entire busy day at work!
Class starts at 12, a lunch hour class, therefore, attracted many OLs (office ladies!). First lesson, we learnt the basic greetings, introduction and also the vowels and consonant of the Korean language. After the first lesson, sissy and I went to the food court right opposite Samsung Hub for lunch! Mastered the art of chopping tables (i.e. reserving the tables) from the OLs! tissue paper!! woohoo~ sissy and I placed two packets of tissue and one packet of wet tissue! gosh! we're so kia su! lol.. Went to buy fish soup with bitter gourd! heh! it's a must have with bitter gourd! Walking really carefully there as it was still lunch hour! packed! I realise there were two indian man looking at me as I was walking to my table. Walking closer to my table I saw that one of packet tissue was missing and the exact same pattern was found on their table. Craps they are damn juvenile and should I say poor bastards? cus they couldn't even afford to get a packet of tissue themselves! They are the indian gangsters, dress up entirely black with the 'I-look-cool-so-don't-touch-me' look! Pls! total fail can! I just stare at them! (I really do have the guts to do such things because I know I'm right! Don't really bother how fierce you look? Bcus it doesn't scare me!:p) When sissy arrived, I told her they took my tissue, she was just totally shocked! I then said how i pity them etc. well, shalln't bother abt them!

This Monday, my second Korean lesson, sissy and I went to marina square to eat THAI EXPRESS! heh! like finally! Their clear tom yum soup was totally missed! Renewed my membership card since it was only $25 for renewal with whole load of benefits!(; After lunch, we went on to Far East Plaza to shop! Bought a maxi dress (an extremely modest piece super suitable for me to wear when I need to play the piano in church!), an oversize throwover piece and a nude coloured collared blouse. Sissy and I had a pedicure done too! Lovely shiny gold shade from O.P.I ! Sissy and I went to Orchard Ion to try HappyLemon! Sissy bought yakult green tea (which tasted really funny!) and I got green tea with rock salt cheese! It was really an interesting blend of flavours! May try it again! heh! Met mummy at Somerset to get a haircut at HairInn@OC. Evelyn always does a job that doesn't fail us!:D After that, we went to 313@Somerset to shop at Forever21 where I bought two rings! yay!!! We then ate at Trattoria Italian Kitchen! Awesome-licious food! Their mushroom sauce goes really well with their beef! Pizza by them is also a must-eat! We had some spicy pizza (can't rmb the name)! It had a tinge of red wine taste and tabasco sauce! Their ice cream was not bad! Cookies and cream was soso but their wildberries was really good! yumss! I really wanna go back their to eat again!!!:D

Had violin lesson on tues! Learning a lot from Mr Kong! heh! Hope when school reopens I'll still have time to practice(: Wenesday, taught cousin some chemistry and went for duty! Pissed with what happened before duty started! Haii... anyway! Introduced hong zao mian xian to Nelly! She was sooo cute! She was shocked at how it could taste, but grew to like it!(;
I'm sooo looking forward to BBQ tml! Mb meeting Nelly for koi before we head down to pr park!

I'm totally not prepared to wake up everyday at 6 starting next week!:( gahhh Lord help me pls!

Singapore F1 GP 2010- Nothing Else Comes Close!

How breathing taking was it to see F1 cars zooming past me on the Marina Bay Circuit! Worked there as a merchandise crew in Stamford! Four words: SHAG BUT DAMN ENJOYABLE!:DDDD

Job scope was to sell official SGP F1 merchandise which you could have a look here! Pictures not real life tho! hahas... what i did mainly was being a cashier for almost the three days! In my opinion. slack but can be really stressful job. One zero means alot! like $78 and $780! Our customers were mainly foreigners, many Caucasians, who can be really friendly people! There was this guy, i guess almost drunk, was really kind by helping me pack their items into the shopping bags. and he went. "I hug you!" I just gave him a blank stare! He continued, "I hurt you".. me: *still shocked!*. Well, it too me a moment to realise that he was saying "I HELP you!" LOL!!!!

Being situated very near the circuit, we (stamford people) get to watch the race rather close(: tho i sneaked out of our tent with li shan, benjamin and his friend, matthew to watch it really up close at the esplanade! oops! hahas!

The three race days had a great entertainment line-up! I guess the only dazzling performance I saw was by Adam Lambert! He really had the whole stage to himself! Guess no one can take his/her eyes away from the stage! Even though many performances were staged at the Padang, I was able to her everything from Stamford hehes! Since they're so near muahahas! Ohh! and my violin teacher, who is the music director of VOX, performed with his members at the Paddock Club! I'M FREAKING JEALOUS! sooo wanna see how they perform! Being Singapore's first pop string quartet, they must be really unique and awesome!

Down with really bad flu now.. guess working there 12 hours straight for three days was a killer to my body:(
plus me buying either medium size ice lemon tea or coke everyday:S hahas!

Truly enjoyed this F1-antastic experience! Hope to work again next yr!! hehes:D

BGR- now or later?

Here's my take.

Some time back, mummy and i went to nihon mura for dinner. We discussed much about BGR and i ask her for her opinions to many things, like the guy i should have, at what age and stuff like that. She did try to dig information from me about my and sissy's love life. Well, I told her mine as I find it totally alright and open to do so, but didn't divulge about sissy's as I know she may still wanna keep some things secret.
Since young, my parents told my sister and I not to get into a relationship so early. At first, during my extremely rebellious years, I didn't understand it at all. I find that their preaching and advice were totally annoying! Engaging in some childish flirts was all that I ever dare do since daddy and mummy were against teenage dating.

As I grow, as I mature, I understand the innate concern a parent has for his child. I deal with these fruitless relationships in a much more mature way which was to ignore it.
After weighing the pros and cons of this kind of relationship, I saw that there was no need in me getting into a relationship now.
Here's why I don't want to have a boyfriend now.

My expectations
One of my main expectation is to have a christian boyfriend. cliche for a christian girl right? But i truly mean it hah! I believe that having a partner of the same faith would save myself from troubles in the future. For example, our views on different things in life like evolution. In addition, I do need someone who is stronger in this faith than me as I have the old-fashioned view that the guy should lead the girl(:
Monetary wealth is secondary, but of course I expect that guy to be able to support himself and me right? hahas!

My attitude
I'm going to treat any relationship that come my way seriously. I will take this kind of relationship as a step towards marriage. hahas! I'm not saying this because I'm trying to act holy or whatsoever not. I've seen many loved ones around me getting hurt because of a single word - breakups. Not prepared to face with such hurt, I rather leave away from anything that would bring me close to it. Unless I'm sure that the guy is serious with me, I would never want to go steady with him. I rather be single than to be in a wrong relationship.
On the other hand, there are people around me who say that I should try going into a relationship and see how thing goes, which i strongly disagree. Actually such things are more on a perception issue. Some find that this would be a good way to find out what character you're looking in partner. Others find that such relationships are a waste of time and you may even miss 'the one' while in that futile relationship. Well, I belong to the latter category.

The guys
To be honest, I do find guys who ask me to go steady are immature. I don't believe that they are really treating this relationship seriously so what for I waste my time on you uh??
In my opinion, guys should be more honest with their feelings? What for hang around the girl and try to drop hints but yet the hints are not so obvious? They should just have more courage to say "I like you" simple? or it just boils down to your ego? afraid that it would be crush? hmm...
Ahwell! I just haven't met you yet!

The timing
I'm not someone who can really focus on alot of things at one time. Many close friends around would be able to tell. During exam period or when studies just gets to taxing, I would almost cut myself out of the social networking world like facebook, twitter and even to blog. I think I would make a mess out of a relationship as I wouldn't be able to give much of my time and effort into this relationship and that would be unfair to the guy right?

okays! that's all I have in mind right now! Relationship for me? yes, but not now heh! Wait till I see you my love!

It has been eons ago since I've last updated my blog! Ohman! Terribly guilty that i didn't update my blog even half as regularly as my sissy who have 50% papers to study for! Alright! So I'll spilt the blog post into a few sections and talk about it(:

Internship

Next week would already be my 10th week in CGH! Time seriously fliessss! I've been posted to almost all the sections in the clinical lab alr! and i must say i really did learn much from this! This week marks the end of my fellow interns from TP. Both of them were a great joy there! We had lotsa crappy talk in the lab and even spent three days sorting out August specimens according to the different sections. Blood bank is seriously boring! It's just a boring crap for all the interns there! All i did was to label tubes and see what the seniors were doing! haizz.. I'm still waiting to visit the Nutrition department, as promised by Mr Tan.(:

CCA- Changi Youth Ambassador

CYA has been having lotsa activities now since everyone is like so free! but I'm not! thus i had to take a few leaves to attend the activities.. feeling super bad but it's not like I have choice right?? hmm...

ohh! I've been given the position of a Membership Secretary for this coming year! YAY! I'm really sooo sooo happy to receive this position as I always wanted to have a secretary position but sissy always said that secretary always gets the sai gang job. Is it true? I hope not!:S hahas! Sue ann, my senior who handed this position to me was totally awesome! She actually came all the way to the airport on my last duty so as to tell me what this position is all about! :O So basically, I have to mange the database of CYA and constantly check with all the CYAs if they have a change in their particulars as well as to get MCs from them if they miss duty.. hmm! kinda slack right? but still have to do my best! help me Lord!

Yesterday, it was the airport training for the 10th batch and I went down to help out in the walkabout.. Most of the 10th batch seems great! Looking forward to start duty with them soon(: Led a group of 9 juniors with Nelly, Shermain and Terrence around.. I think we walked really slow so we only managed to cover T3 transit :p hahas! Wasn't able to make it for their second day of training, which is today as I have to serve as a pianist in the church choir.. hmm.. give and take..

Activities

On the eve of national day, uncle peter organised a bbq session!(: uncle peter is my mummy's
big bro who i always call uncle pig pig! hahas!:p

Attended two F1 trainings over two saturdays! I'll be placed at stamford which is seriously a stone's throw away from city hall mrt! sissy got padang where all the performances would be there! *jealous* SHE GETS TO SEE MARIAH CAREY!:(((((

Went out with my cousins on the 20st of aug to have a little hangout at pasir ris park.. went to eat and proceeded for drinks at ocean culture. The choc fondue was uberly good! great pricing too! *winks* We had a great HTHT too where we learnt each other's deepest secrets heh!

Went for simin's 18th bday party on the 21st of aug!

she had ice cream cake!!!! *beamsss!* i had two servings :p been really eating lotsa junk food recently and don't really bother excercising >< Learn how to play concentration using animals! heh! i was a MONKEY! hahas! once again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SPERMAINE!

Internship

As time flies, I'm already into my second week of my Industrial Training Programme (ITP). I'm currently attached to Changi General Hospital (CGH) for my 12 weeks of itp.

'How has it been?' is a question I get from many people. & I'm grateful that there are so many people around me who are so concern *beams!* :D
Well, I could say that everyday has been getting better. I learn something more everyday, and definitely find myself getting more useful as the days go by! hehes...
Basically, in the lab, there are a few different stations such as the central processing, blood bank, haematology, biochemistry, immunoassay etc. For my first two weeks of itp, I placed at central processing, a.k.a. the admin station for the lab. hahas.. we receive the specimens from various parts of the hospital via a pneumatic tube system, thereafter, we validate the specimens and send them to respective stations for their testings where results generated would usually be computerised and respective wards and clinic can get the results off their computer! Indeed an efficient and effective system CGH has!(:

Even though standing for almost the whole day may be tiring and not getting paid during this 3 months of internship maybe a turn-off for my internship, I do enjoy the company there. Having to meet people from all walks of life, like diploma graduates, degree holders, mothers, foreigners and even veteran of this line, I get to hear and understand many different stuff in life.

I would like to thank God, for helping me through my first week, He really gave me strength to be honest in my work, i.e., to stay vigilant not only in the spiritual aspect but also at work. Working in the hospital is really not a stress-free job. You inevitably meet into life-and-death situations as patients come in and out of the hospital non-stop. Mr Alex Tan, the clinical lab manager, often would remind the lab staff to be extremely alert in the things that we do as it concern thousands and thousands of lives. This is a great opportunity for me to learn how to take things seriously as in school experiment, I don't really bother doing the expt with much caution :p I also thank God for granting me a good group of colleagues to work with. They are very forthcoming in teaching me new stuff and would not look down on me even though I'm only an intern. & I thank God that He helped me to be a 'workman that needeth not to be ashamed'!(: ALL GLORY BE TO GOD!!:DDD

How's your spiritual progress?

For many believers, that must have been a very thought-provoking question.

To me, I've considered my walk with the Lord a number of times during the 10th Combined Youth Conference (CYC) which happened on the 24-26 of June(:

The Theme for this year's CYC was:

Peter's Progress: What About Mine?

Initially, I was skeptical that I would feel out of place as there were only 5 Gethsemaneans attending the camp. Darren originally planned to go for CYC but had band stuff on so he wasn't able to go. Fortunately, sissy agreed to re-schedule her time so that she could make it! Thank God!:D

The theme messages were preached to us by Pastor Koshy and he expounded greatly on the life of Simon Peter. After jotting down some notes, I've decided to write them very briefly here. These notes includes the life of Peter as well as some of the people around him.

Simon Peter was already elected to be a prominent figure even before his salvation. C.f. John 1:40, where Andrew was referred to as 'Andrew, Simon Peter's brother'
Jesus reveals to Peter that he is God by telling Peter who his father is without them telling him. C.f. John 1:42
Simon Peter was given the name 'Cephas' by Jesus, which means rock in the Aramaic language.
In Matt 4:18-22, the meaning of Cephas was made known to Peter that he would become an apostle.
In Matt 14:28-31, in the incident when Peter asking Jesus to let him walk on the choppy sea, we see his faith in God to help him walk even on the choppy sea, something which was close to impossible for humans.
*When we trust in the Lord fully, we know that we're safe. However, if we are distracted by worldly temptations, troubles would fill our minds and we sink. An example is when Peter divert his attention to the stormy sea when he should be focusing on Christ.
We see Peter as a 'leader' among Jesus's disciples. C.f. Mark 8:29, Peter was always answering first.
Even though Peter was rebuked openly by Jesus (Mark 8:33), he did not leave Him, unlike some disciples in John 6:66. In this passage, Peter exhibited the spirit of being teachable.
Satan desires to have Peter for himself (this also applies to all Christians).
God will allow the devil to trouble us so that through these trials, we learn to trust him and know the need to do so.

After testi time, i went out with bimbo, samuel goh from true life, and justin from calvary tengah. Bimbo wanted to draw money and got the guys to be our 'bodyguards' ahahas! So happened that justin is a policeman! hahas! and this is my first time knowing a policeman! and samuel goh is super tall! hahahas! We were supposed to only draw money but bimbo suggested to go to pandan reservoir as she said it was really nice. hahaas! yupps true! the breeze was great even though what you see in front of you are just factories and industries hahas! Because of walking in the reservoir, we reached calvary pandan (the place we stayed) close to 2am! sleeping at that kinda time really makes my eye bags sooo much worserrr! D:

my slipper broke! hahas! but thank God that i brought another slipper so I dont have to go back barefooted! hahas!

YUPPS FINALLY I CAN SHOUT F-R-E-E-D-O-M or L-I-B-E-R-A-T-I-O-N (as quoted by mah mah!)

three papers down and NO MORE STUDYING TILL 17 SEP! can you believe it??! yupps no more studying till then as I've completed four modules within the short span of 8 week, 7 weeks i should say as the 8th week is my MST week. So I took lesser than 2 weeks to complete one module :O Thank God for helping me through this nerve-wrecking, filled with tons of projects, reports and quizzes 8 weeks.

I've finally decided to create a Twitter account when i was in the midst of my exams! hahahas! All thanks to my wonderful sissy who said,"Since you have an iPhone, you should really get a Twitter acc!". Really true! enjoyed the convenience of twitting with an iPhone via the app Twitter for iPhone! All the ranting, gossiping and encouragements was a great way to pass through mundane life and examss!

Well, we didn't buy it even though it was on promotion because sissy and I are using iPhone and it doesn't come with a hole to insert any fanciful keychain... hmm. maybe iPhone 4g should come out with a hole for the handphone chain!

The shop at Jewel Box also have really interesting things like apparel made from organic bamboo! heh! mummy got a shawl made from organic bamboo at $50(: the texture was really soft, smooth and comfortable!

And my dear Nelly could still take the spiciness calmly, drank little water and ate the sauce up even after eating the wing! ohmyy! can't beat burmese in eating spicy stuff! hahas!

Well, I find the staff there are not very sensitive to our needs. In addition, when the waitress was clearing our table, she said 'can you push the plate to me?' in a very snoobish manner. The table wasn't very big too so there's no reason she should get her customer to do her job right? Then why are we paying for the 10% service charge? Ah well..
Food: 3.5/5
Really nice food. The chickent wing was well-marinated with a subtle aroma from the spices used.

BLESSED MOTHER'S DAY!!

Yupps!! Wishing all mummy in the world happy mother's day! Whao! My mummy has been a mummy for a good 19 years! It must have been a tough chore for her to raise up three kids and I guess we must given her numerous headaches. She's the best lady in the world!! Juggling between work and motherhood! Salute!! Recently I truly valued home cooked meals. When I started year two in poly, I have been coming home late as school ends late this sem as well as some other activities which disallow me from coming back for dinner. Coming back home with a table full of dishes cooked with love is truly heart warming!(: I LOVE YOU MUMMY!!

Today my family and I went to church as usual. Pastor preached on Christ being a sympathetic High Priest. Good sermon and I did learn a couple of new stuff. Lunched at KFC hahas.. First time eating there with my family! Lol. Came back from church and tried doing reference interval tutorial which wasn't easy! Ohman Lord help me! About 6, we set off for dinner with the extended family to celebrate mother's day. We ate satay celup at geylang. Did I say satay celup?! Yes! But it's the one on Singapore not Melaka! Hahas....

Their interior made up of many pictures of Melaka. Their owner is from Melaka therefore we can expect rather authentic sauce. One big big difference between the satay celup in Melaka and Singapore is that singapore's sauce is not reused! Hahas...
When I first step in, strong fragrant satay aroma greeted me. Even though their sauce is not reused, it was still very fragrant due to the spices used.

Melaka getaway!

[This post would be divided into three parts as I think there's some limit to bloggerpress on iPhone-.-]

1st may, labor day, a public holiday, a Saturday. This day maybe a rather random, redundant holiday for many poly students as this holiday falls on a Saturday and therefore no difference to them. But for me, I thank God for this holiday. It allowed my family and my paternal grandma to go on a short trip to Melaka(:
Without further ado, let me present to you my short getaway!

1st may, day one..
We went by car and it was about a 4 hr ride. Including a breakfast break in the middle.

I like the ruins of the church. Not exactly in the meaning of like things to be ruin. However, it was definitely an experience which you cannot find in Singapore. In addition, they had a multi-talented busker. Multi talented in the many language he was proficient with. Just a short span of 10mins at the church, I heard him sing in English, Malay, Chinese, Cantonese and Hokkien! Whaowee~! hahas.

We then went shopping at a nearby shopping mall(: however, it wasn't our plan to shop that day so it was a very brief one. I only bought one thing. Stay tune to find out!

We then went to a restaurant selling peranakan cuisine. It's called makko restaurant. Really famous in Melaka(:
We met my Dad's younger bro BY CHANCE! hahas... He was also in Melaka on an incentive trip I guess. Hahas. He was staying in holiday inn! The hotel
Daddy wanted to book but there was no more rooms!
Peranakan cuisine is great! This opportunity allowed me to have a try of food 'little nonya' cast had hahas! Yupps! The food was a little like Chinese food yet tasted like Malay food! While, that's peranakan for you!

After the meal, we proceeded to out hotel, Beauford Hotel. A nice, decent place(:

Although there were some hiccups in getting the hotel room, I thank God for His grace to provide us with one, and a family suite somemore! Thank God that the owner, uncle David (coincidentally have the same name as daddy) was gracious enough to let us have that room(:

Melaka getaway part 2!

After settling down, we intended to have satay celup for dinner. Satay celup is very much similar to steamboat, however, the raw food is placed on a skewer and is cooked using boiling satay sauce. Sounds good? However, it has been said that the very same sauce you're dipping in has been reused over and over again :S so under uncle David's recommendation, we went to a seafood restaurant run by a friend of his.

BBQ prawns. They still retain the natural flavour as no seasoning was use. Very good!

Last dish, lobster! But it was badly done. Very hard meat! The waiter was talking nonsense! He said that lobster's meat is very hard! Nonsense! He think we all nvr eat lobster before-.-

Next we proceeded to jonker walk of Melaka. Very much like Singapore's pasar malam, just a much bigger one with more varieties.
We pass by a baba hse while walking towards jonker walk and went in as daddy and mummy wanted to enquire about their prices

Next station, night cruise. It's a 45min boat ride along the small river which flows across the sites of attraction in Melaka. Really boring though cus it was a to and fro trip and the music they played was seriously annoying...

We left the hotel about 10 to have a morning walk at the jetty infront of Holiday Inn

oh but before that we had lunch in the shopping centre. Some hong kong cafe which serves really good food! No regrets!(: one of the dish I liked best and the most unique was the fried cheong fun! Yes, it's like the normal chee cheong fun but cooked in the oyster omelette style. Sedap!!
The girls (mummy, sissy and I) went shopping around while daddy and grandma went for massage and darren went to do his work as his exams are this week! Hahas...
One can get really good deals here as there are sales going on or their items are plain cheap! Sissy and I got a adidas tank each. My second one from Malaysia! Hahas. And mummy got a blouse at SGD 22! Extremely good material!

After shopping, we head on for dinner at 'Coconut House'. This humble eatery was the place many of my extended family members love. Well-known for their pizza and rustic ambience.

We then walked to 'coconut house'. Something unfortunate happened.
Grandma had a fall while sitting on the bench. I thank God that she was protected from the sharp edge of the stairs which was only a few cm away from her head. But I pray Lord that she'll recover asap as she's no longer young and has a chronic leg pain....

My first week of year two

Yes! I'm now pursuing my year two in Biomedical Science.. year two, first week was tiring and stressful in some aspects..
One of it was that my year one class have to split due to our various options.. i have choosen the medical technology option while many of my friends have choosen cardiac technology option.. in my clique there are cynthia, shumei, sarah and kim fang.. i miss them so so much! even though we take some modules together and therefore have lectures together, it feels very different. they are no more my classmates anymore:(
Secondly was the work load for my year two. For this semester, we have to squeeze the entire semester into one term of 8 weeks! 4 modules within 8 weeks, which is almost equivalent to one module in 2 weeks! no it's lesser than that because week 8 is mst week, thus, its 4 modules within 7 weeks. 2 modules are in-course assesment (ica) modules while another 2 are not. though this may seem like a better option, it have its own fair share of disadvantages. one of which was that i would be having quizzes and test like once every two weeks and non-stop projects. Lab work has been increasingly tougher now as questions posted to us are rather vague and there's lots of self-learning and research work to be done.

First day of school, i was already very stress due to the sudden change in school and classmates. I came back home and poured out all my anxiety and worries to my mother. I thank God for giving me such a caring mother, who has been there all the while. Mummy, I LOVE YOU!(: She listen to me intently and gave me really good advice. She told me that in life, we are bound to face this kinda hardship and disturbance. She thanked God that i knew what was coming ahead of me on the first day of school, which is much better than packing all my workload if I'll would to wake up to life weeks after.. She tries to solve my problems and also advice me on how to should change my attitude to this stressor. She then prayed for me and asked the LORD to help me in my life and studies.. She told me not to be stress out too much. After praying and crying it out, I felt much better!
However, as days pass by, I have been still stress-out by my school's workload. This mountain has never decreased (but i'm clearing as much as i can right now(: ), my appetite has decreased tremendously and i've fret about it a couple of times. I constanly had diarrhoea which i guess was due to my stress level. Well, i've research on it and found of that this was possible due to the adrenaline level and whatever not.. ahahs! For the past few days, I have not been sleeping well and have been waking up quite breathless.. ohman.. i truly gave myself too much pressure.
I now pray constanly asking God for His help. I find I have been a really selfish and rather hypocritical christian as i only turn to God in times of trials.. and sometimes i feel that Jesus shouldn't even be my intercessor to God but throught the past few sermons by pastor, i know that He will not. Jesus Christ is my sympathatic High Priest who understands my sorrows and would be in the best position to minister to me. THANK YOU LORD!
Today, i happen to see a card which mummy wrote for me slightly before my EOY exams.
Here's what she said,

so sweet lars... I can always feel her encouragement everytime i read this note. I also Thank the LORD for giving me Christian parents. In time of troubles, they would be there to encourage me with the word of God. Typing out this note is also to encourage anyone else out there who are in the midst of tribulations, I would like to let you know that MY GOD IS THERE FOR YOU ALWAYS!

I pray that the LORD would guide me along, help me to face life trials with patience and a brave christian heart, to manage my time wisely so that i can 'study to show thyself approved unto God', ' a workman that needeth not to be ashamed', ' rightly dividing the word of God'. I pray that in my course of study, I wouldn't neglect the LORD and continue to grow spiritually.. (:

The next thing i look forward to is this weekend's malaysia trip! My family would most likely be going to malaysia for a short vacation during Labour Day. This would definitely motivate me to study well so that i can rest well too!!

Updates!

It's 4:50am in the morning of a lazy Saturday. The day which most ppl sleep way way past sun rise.
I'm not awake because I need to get up early, but is that I couldn't get back to slp after waking halfway through my sleep at 4:15. So I thought might as well blog since I can't be determined enough to blog regularly. Oh well,... MY THROAT IS FREAKING ITCHY!!! Even though I study biomed, I have noo idea why will our throat itch when we're down with a cold. Btw, I've been under the weather for a few days already. First it started with block and runny nose. This bout of sickness was then accompanied by a slight fever (which I thank God it subsided really quickly). Then sore throat came in and my blocked nose was really bad to the extent I can't taste the chocolate ice cream my mummy gave me. Y'know those kinda block ice cream which ice cream uncles would sell for a dollar with waffles. The only thing I could taste was the waffles, maybe because it was too dry so the taste was easily picked up by my senses. My condition improved progressively as I self medicate with drugs I find in the fridge. Hahas...this maybe bad but WHO CARES! I shout again..WHO CARES! Almost everyone self-medicate before they turn to a doctor when they realise nothing works. Hahas! Ohwell. Sissy said I spread the bug to her when she was the one who came back from her itp sick! Lol.

'nuff said. I shall go on with some happenings in my life over the past few weeks.
Over the past two weeks i've been with Dr. Yeo's year 1 research program in which Cynthia and I are in one group researching on PCR. It was a rather enriching study and a very hands-on practical session for us. We did the whole experiment from the start where we first extracted the DNA from E. coli. Next was to amplify the gene we want through PCR, and lastly was to use gel electrophoresis to view our results. Even though this isn't a graded project or a paid job, I would say I did enjoy myself there as I get to do the WHOLE experiment myself! How awesome is that?! When usually in practical sessions I wouldn't be able to participate in every step as lecturers would divide the experiment into a few workloads which would be shared among team members.

Last Thursday was Daddy's birthday. He met with a car accident that day! Can you believe it? A car accident on your birthday.. Daddy was all alone guess he must have been frightened (to a certain extent). I was totally caught off guard when mummy told me that as I've always believe daddy is a good driver with 30yrs of driving experience! Ohwell. Thank God daddy manage to escape unharmed just that his car was sent for servicing again. Ohya! The first one was on my birthday party day when we were returning back from the chalet. One goon uncle from the back bang straight into our car. Thank God that everyone was save as there wasn't any injuries at all. Seriously, we have a gracious God whose mercies endured forever. Thank You LORD!(:
Oh! So for daddy's birthday I got for him a business pen which I got it in changi airport transit(:

Can't remember what did I do on Friday. Shall check my diary later hahas.
Saturday I went for choir. Hmm.. Uncle Dennis (church choir master) felt that the choir isn't giving him respect he is due. I'm sure they know themselves. I too admit that in the starting of my service as a choir pianist I was skeptical of his leading abilities in the choir as he wasn't professionally trained. However, through many presentations, I realise that why do we need professional help when we have an almighty God who would grant strength to His children? Yes! Indeed God helped the choir tremendously! This enables us to be the standard in which we are now(: I also see uncle Dennis' great effort to keep the choir going and how he would try to improve as a choir master.
Oh. Some other things happened too. All I can say was that I've put in the effort but cold attitude was smack into my face. F. I'm not gonna bother anymore.
Youths next. It was a preaching given by uncle jeremiah on mormons. I learnt that we have to be really careful of anti-Christ around us. How we could prevent from falling into their trap as well as how we could use the Bible to rebut that false doctrines. Games by Cornelius was fun! I truly enjoy every session of such quizzes hehes. Youths then celebrated the birthdays of march and april babies, Hwan and I were the birthday babies hahas! Oh Hwan's a Korean who is studying in Singapore now. He lives with his guardian and other Korean students. I think this is soo cool! I wanna study overseas too! Heh! Andronicus was cute! He wrote a big happy birthday and drew a bday cake for Hwan and I hahas! Cute! Should have taken a picture of it! Dang!
After youths, my family and I went to suntec city to celebrate daddy's belated birthday at a restaurent called 'Mad for Garlic' (ps no pictures as pictures were taken using sissy's phone so check her blog out!). I pretty love the ambience of the place. Wine glasses and bottles decorated the place and that brought out the all atmosphere. The food was superb!! 5/5 rating!! Okay I promise to 'steal' pics from sissy and blog about it hahaa!

Monday, 12 april, I went down to crc to do some recordings. It was a much fufilling time than previous sessions as i've done one whole song and an intro. Thank God! Lunched with Jie Melissa at one of the coffee shop nearby. When she asked if I wanted drinks I said no immediately hahas! Cus she have been treating me for the past few times alr. So nice lars! First time was strawberry pocky and Milo. Second time was my entire meal! I told myself cannot cannot. She's a church staff so I shall not take advantage as their salary isn't alot but sufficient(:

Tuesday, 13 April, went to school at 8am for CLS fo games. In the morning, I took a DACP(diploma in applied science? Smt like pharmaceutical thing.. Sounds cheem only=p) and my partner was chee kiong who is a rather soft person. Like it was quite hard for him to mix with the freshies, dk why... In addition that's his own course haas! Anyway I enjoyed this bunch of kids! Will always rmb them(; later in the afternoon, it was my course juniors turn, DBS! My class was the first to come as they were super early! Cyn, sek, chia and I sat with them chit-chatting with them abt the course and more.. I could say they are a very united bunch as they mingle well even though it's only the first day they know each other. Kudos juniors!(: I enjoyed myself that day too but it was since then I fell sick. Maybe I shouted too much, trying to beat the construction =p

Wednesday I had cya duty. Cya always remind me of starbucks now. Hahas.. As I would treat daddy once in a while to his favourite latte, and my all-time fav choc chip cream!

Thursday, 15 april, I stayed at home the whole day to finish the drama autumn's concerto. Great show! Would write about it some other time(: had two hours of piano lesson in the evening(:

Friday, 16 April, I went out with my cya friends(nelly, Colin, KJ and Ivan) as well as with sissy. No pics as no one brought cam!:( First up, we went to chomp chomp seafood to have our dinner! It was great! Sambal stingray (x2!), gong gong, sambal kang kong, sambal sotong, carrot cake, chicken wings and oyster omelette! Weewuwee~~! shiockness man! Drinks were on me as I was late:/ hehes. Everyone happy jiu hao!(; hahas. Broken English ttm!
We then went down to novena to have ice cream at udders. Great place and great ice cream too! Had green tea ice cream which I felt it was inferior to other ice cream brands. Personally I prefer green tea ice cream a little bitter if not it wouldn't taste like green tea! Hahas... We had a great chit chat session at udders hahas... And thanks colin for his car! He was nice to drive sissy and I all the way back(;

And today, I'm going for cya camp meeting at 1130 and choir at 2! Gotta leave early from meeting to rush down for choir. No time for lunch at all!!!

It has been a long time since I've updated! Well, busy with stuff like going to sch for research, going to crc for recordings and going out! whoohoo~

In my previous post, it was on my first fcm meeting which happened on the 23 of March and the next outing i had was my birthday celebration with my sec sch besties, atikah and winnie! They're impt so I shall have a 'personal' post for them hahas!

On the 27 of March, i met Jie and Brandon for lunch. It was Jie and my birthday treat from brandon at thai expresss! whoo~ Seriously had a great time and really really enjoyed clear tom yum soup once again!!! Sadly Jie had to leave earlier bcus she's working:( so brandon and i went walking about and i bought the promod dresss~~~~ wheewuwee! While we were shopping about, brandon told me lots of stuff, like stuff about life, characters and personality. Wha! what can i say? This brother in Christ seems to have matured alot!(: We went for auntie anne's after awhile cus he complaint that he was hungry!!! lol.yupp that's abt it!

29 of March, I had a mini class outing with my classmates! 1B01!! It was to Marcus' house. location: Pinnacle @ duxton!

31 of March i went down to crc to do some recordings. It was seriously not as easy as i thought. Thank God that He helped me throughout the time I was at the crc. I'm no expert in the facilities there, hence I had to do a couple of prep before the actual recording. However, the fruits of my labour was truly sweet!(:

1 of April, APRIL'S FOOL DAY!

My sister gave me my first april fool joke in the morning even before i got up! she was like, 'JOLLYN! THERE'S A LIZARD THERE!' I tell you... i was super duper shocked! scream like nobody's business and all my sister did was laugh away! -.-||||

I then went to school for my research and this time, cyn and i did on PCR instead of the usual pyro sequencing which we left it to jeri and jaslyn! hahas!

Thereafter, I came back home to give piano lesson and set off to meet the FCM-SP for dinner(: I met more people this round in addition to those I've met in my previous outing(:

My latest happening was on saturday, the 3rd of April. I had to reach school at 10 in the morning for cya camp meeting! I was in the games commitee and had to plan the games together with shermain, ying cong, shannon and kabin(: We came out with many games man! whoo~ can't wait to try it out!!!!:D

In the evening, my family and I went down for my cous jonathan's 15th bday party! It was held at my uncle's condo bbq pit. The weather was bad... it rained non-stop!

Mummy was nice, she turned the trash bad into a make shift raincoat for me! hehes... Something really hilarious happened! Cousins, bro and I decided to walk about and also go to the toilet. So i let darren wear the trash bag while I would be behing him getting shelter from the remainding cloth of the trash bad (very much similar to the concept of the lion dance cloth). I just tailed my brother all the way and the next thing I knew, is that i was found in the WATER FOUNTAIN! Can you imagine that?! I freaked out! One is that i was caught totally off guard. Two, was that my iPhone was in my pocket! Thank God for long legs! whahahas... hence my phone was left unharm(: This is super hilarious as my brother was depending on me to guide him, as he thought that I would be directing him. While I expect him to direct me! hahas! what is this! BLIND LEADS THE BLIND!

We had a great time there even though the rain was a super spoiler... great food, great company, great time!!

My FIRST FCM OUTING cum free cone day!

This post is gonna be about me attending fcm outing for the first time! whoa! hahas! love it. maybe that ending was the mark of many wonderful friendships to come(: THANK GOD!

Met most of them at woodlands mrt! and i seriously didnt like the train ride! not only was it long, it stinked too! smelt of vomit throughout the red line! but anyway those ppl from fcm are really nice. Even though we took quite some time to warm up to each other, we still had quite lenghty talks in the end(:

Went to RP where we met up with Samuel Goh, a super tall guy of 195cm (beat that!), who gave us the short exhortation today on God's creation and should we study on the sabbath day. Well, the answer is NO, unless under two circumstances, emergency and necessity. Crystal clear, so no working on sabbath day too! hahas...

After the exhortation and time of prayer, we proceeded for our FOOD HUNT! Well, it's not all over Singapore but it covered a substantial amount of the north side!

Finally blogging again! hahas... yupps! This post would be on my birthday celebration at NSRCC chalet 1. A really late post since this happened on the 19 of march and now is the 22! hahas..

oh regarding the previous post, it's really random. I went to shop at promod one day after i met sissy for lunch and tried some clothes on. But, I could never make buying clothes decisions by my own :x hahas... so i'll always rely on my mummy's, sissy's and mb in the future, my boyfriend's taste! lol. &the funny thing is that my phone plan does not have mms function!! So i couldn't send my sis the pics i took of the dress. But JOLLYN IS WAY TOO BRILLIANT hahahas, so i decided to upload the pics on my blog using the BlogPress app on my phone(: Sissy said the pics were nice so i was forbided to delete that post! haha.

we were given a number of hints(: but it was slightly lesser than what dr tan gave us for mst, but still... hints are loved!
its a module which is nothing but memory work. so, if you studied and really mug, cell bio is chicken feet. hahas... i could have studied harder tho (i admit).

Youths at Botanical Garden

the children, youths and adults fellowship groups had a mass outing at Botanical Garden (BG)!

before that, we had choir at the 'security' room! lol! what a name!

but anyway, choir was great! We learnt a new song called 'Standing on the Promises'. yupps! the arrangement was awesome and the intro sounded like Majullah Singapura. lol!

the choir learnt the whole song in under 2 hours! awesome not? hahas. and after everyone had learnt their part, uncle dennis ask me to spend some time going throught the score.

going through score = sightread and play within 5mins!

lol. but by the grace of God, i managed to pull through! ahhaas!

so much of choir, moving on to the outing!

RANDOMNESS on a saturday

Saturday equals to a day of tuition,

well, not me having tuition but me giving tuition, which is piano lesson to my student Averyl(:

teaching seem to have got a little easier after i started buying stuff for her on a regular basis, increasing class timing allowing us to have longer time to teach, learn and gossip about stuffs too(:

this is the first time i talk so much about my piano teaching.

Its going to be two years into piano teaching already, and this two years it was filled with gladness, satisfaction, anguish and sometimes doubt. doubtful as there were times i was afraid that i might teach the wrong things. but thanks for people like ms chan and mr leung who i could turn to in times of doubt.

by teaching, i really learnt how is it like to be a teacher and how bad i was as a student. =P hahas.

i also gained really some valuable experience on how to deal with people and how to even deal with kids and parents (but i must say that aunty audrey, averyl's mummy, is a really nice and accommodating lady!(: )

last saturday, averyl came to my house for piano lesson. she was really enthusiastic now in playing her exam pieces for me!(: esp her T rex song!

like every other ordinary student, she dreads learning new scales. i taught her how to play C major broken chords. well, she wasnt used to it as compared to the normal ascending and descending scales, but i coax her by saying that i would give her sweets and stuff and she played the scale with a more cheerful spirit.

hahas, but i showed her the pattern involved in this scale which was the breaking down of the tonic triad. she was then interested and tried it once again and thought it was easy.... hahas!

after lesson, i took out my santa's hat and played with averyl and aiden,
